Reading is vital to the growth and development of individuals,the level of reading engagement affects the reading performance of individuals.The popular reading mode is shifting from paper reading to network reading,and network reading has gradually become an important way to learn.The network reading engagement is an essential factor to the effect of individual network reading.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the characteristics and influencing factors of readers' online reading engagement.University students account for a large proportion in the network reading groups.However,there are few studies on the characteristics of network reading engagement and its influencing factors.So,this study combines open reading questionnaires and experts' advice on the basis of traditional reading engagement research,then compiles a questionnaire on university students' network reading engagement its influencing factors with high reliability and validity.This study mainly carried out three aspects of the work:(1)The compilation of the questionnaire on the university students' network reading engagement and the questionnaire on the influencing factors of the university students' network reading engagement.(2)Analyze the status and characteristics of university students' online reading engagement.(3)Explore the relationship between university students' online reading engagement and its influencing factors.Finally,the results of the research are analyzed,and the following conclusions are drawn.(1)The self-designed “questionnaire of university students' network reading engagement” and “questionnaire on influencing factors of university students' network reading engagement” have high internal consistency reliability and construct validity,which accords with the measurement requirements of psychological questionnaire compilation.(2)Through questionnaire survey and factor analysis,it is found that the questionnaire of university students' network reading engagement consists of four dimensions: behavioral engagement,emotional engagement,cognitive engagement and will engagement,including 23 items;and that the questionnaire on influencing factors of university students' network reading engagement mainly includes the four aspects of the individual's factors,family,school environment,network environment,and macro-environment,aggregately 25 items.(3)University students' network reading engagement is generally at a moderately high level.From the perspective of each dimension,university students scored the highest scores in the emotional engagement of network reading,and scored the lowest in the cognitive engagement of network reading.The average scores of each dimension were ranked in order of magnitude: Emotional engagement >Behavioral engagement > Will engagement > Cognitive engagement.(4)There are significant differences in one or more dimensions of network reading engagement in terms of the nature of school,gender,grade,specialty,only-child,Ethnic group,family economic status and individual personality,.There is no significant difference in sources of students.There are significant differences in each dimension of network reading engagement in terms of network reading time and the effect of network reading on the individual.In the network reading time,the more time the network reading takes,the higher the network reading engagement level is.In the dimension of individual influence,the greater the impact of network reading on the individual,the higher the level of network reading engagement is.(5)There is a significant positive correlation between the influence factors of university students' network reading engagement and network reading engagement.Individual's factors,family,school environment,network environment,and macro-environment can effectively predict network reading engagement.The degree of influence from the largest to the smallest is individual's factors,network environment,family,school environment and macro-environment.The corresponding educational measures and suggestions are proposed on the basis of the above research.
