| Interpreting,as a special language processing activity, owns the feature of instantaneity, comprehensiveness and high pressure. Therefore, interpreters need to overcome the psychological pressure caused by massive information processing and environmental factors, and ultimately complete the information transmission. Thus, excellent abilities of working memory and psychological compression become the key to a successful interpreting activity.Comprehensively speaking, few researches on interpretation in the academic field are from the perspective of neuropsychology. As a new direction, neuropsychology provides a transforming perspective in the aspect of nerves in the brain that function and affect people’s memories and emotions. This thesis was an empirical study on student interpreters’ interpreting of figures in CI,which adopted experimental research, questionnaire survey and interview method.A series of empirical experiments, including working memory ability test, analysis experiment, psychological compression ability test and contrast experiment were all implemented in this thesis, aiming to explore the impact of memory and psychological factors on interpreting of figures from the perspective of neuropsychology.Data were analyzed by SPSS statistical software and the reasons of memory and psychological factors that affected the quality of interpreting had been chased down, which was scientific. At the same time,a deep understanding in the opinions of interpreters was earned through a large number of results of the questionnaire. It was of great representativeness that the questionnaire was related to the influence of memory and psychological factors on interpreting of figures. It was of practical significance to analyze the statistical results from the perspective of neuropsychology,so as to provide some practical methods to improve the quality of the interpreting of figures. Thus, the results of this research showed that: first, the stronger the working memory abilities student interpreters possessed, the lesser mistakes they would make.Second, the stronger the basic psychological compression abilities of the student interpreters, the lesser they would be influenced by the external factors or psychological pressure.Third, differences of numeral system in English and Chinese, and effort distribution were two major issues for student interpreters in their interpreting of figures in CI.In general, this thesis combined theory with practice, and offered a reference and new ideas for the follow-up study of larger samples. |
