Mind mapping is a visual tool for representing knowledge,and it can improve people's understanding and generalization of knowledge through diagram,color and key words.This study is based on the high school English grammar teaching model to help students overcome difficulties in learning English grammar,aimed to study weather mind mapping English grammar teaching model can improve students' interest in learning English grammar as well as the ability to master grammar knowledge in a systematic way,so as to provide better grammar teaching methods.The study is aimed to examine the effectiveness of mind mapping in high school English grammar teaching.The participants of this study are altogether 94 students in two classes in grade one in Zhenjiang Dan Tu Senior high Middle School,in which the author carries out the experiment in18 weeks.The following three questions are to undertaken in this research: Firstly,compared with traditional grammar teaching methods,can mind mapping grammar teaching help students systematically master the complicated grammar knowledge and improve students' English grammar performance? Secondly,can mind mapping grammar teaching contribute to boosting students' interest of grammar learning? Thirdly,will students and teachers change their attitudes towards grammar learning and teaching by applying mind mapping to grammar teaching in senior high school English?The subjects in this study are in two classes,Class 5 and Class 11 in Zhenjiang Dan Tu Senior high Middle School,Class 5 is selected as the experimental group randomly,which includes 47 students.Class 11 is the control class also including 47 students.The major of the students coming from these two classes are science.The subjects are selected for two reasons: First,they can represent the average Senior high school students' grammar learning level.That is to say,their English studying standard is various much the same as that of most senior school students.Thus,the research result can show the role that mind mapping plays in grammar learning achievements.Before the experiment,the author conducts a pre-survey of two classes,after the study of grammar knowledge,the English teacher assigns the test in a fixed time about 60 minutes.In addition,EXCEL and SPSS software are used to analyze the results of two classes.There exists a great difference between the two classes,the experimental class is higher than the control class,which indicates that the experiment has achieved a certain effect.And both teachers and students like this kind of teaching method very much.According to this study,the author has the following inspirations: First,in high school English grammar teaching,teachers can use mind mapping to help students master systematic grammar knowledge and improve students' grammar ability.Second,teachers can use the method of mind mapping to enhance students' interest in grammar learning in high school English grammar teaching.Third,the use of the mind mapping has changed the way of grammar teaching in English learning,the teaching should not only pay attention to the teacher's dominant position but also give full play to the dominant position of students in the learning process.
