According to Engels' division of materialism and idealism,Hegel's absolute spirit and his whole philosophical system will undoubtedly be classified as idealism, because Hegel inverts the relationship between material and consciousness in essence. But,Engels added,"as long as people don't just stop in front of them and go deep into the building, they will find countless treasures that are still of full value even today." Hegel's concept of labor is the concentrated embodiment of materialism in his philosophical system. It shows the basic connotation of human essence in the form of idealism.A thorough and systematic study of Hegel's concept of labor is of crucial significance to the correct understanding of the formation of Marxist historical materialism.Hegel's view of labor is an important basis for his spiritual philosophy. The essence of labor is manifested most prominence in the internal stages of the spiritual stages and in the transformation of the three stages. The author thinks that Hegel's view of labor is the staircase leading to absolute spirit. If there is no Hegel's labor view, the philosophical system of Hegel's absolute spirit will be It can't be finished. This paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter discusses the position of Hegel's view of labor in his whole philosophy system. The first section expounds the basic connotation of Hegel's concept of labor, and points out that Hegel's labor,in the most direct sense,is the interaction between the human being as the subject and the nature as the object. There are three main characteristics: first, labor is the activity of spiritual subject objectification;second, labor is spiritual object activity;third, the highest form of labor is absolute spiritual self-display activity. The second section demonstrates that Hegel's view of labor is the concentrated embodiment of materialism in his philosophical system. On the other hand,it demonstrates that Hegel's view of labor shows the basic core of the dialectics of reality by the dialectics of concept. The second chapter discusses the specific embodiment of labor in the process of spiritual evolution. It is divided into three sections. The first section discusses the different forms of labor and its significance from the transition of the internal links in the subjective spirit stage, and the second section discusses the different forms and significance of labor in each stage of objective spirit. The third section discusses the different forms and significance of absolute mental labor. The third chapter discusses the theoretical significance of Hegel's view of labor. The first section points out the theoretical achievements and limitations of Hegel's view of labor. The theory lies in Hegel's philosophical investigation of the concept of labor for the first time, which enriches and deepens the connotation of labor and reveals the decisive effect of labor on the relationship of recognition between subjects. The theoretical limitation lies in the fact that Hegel's labor is essentially the spiritual labor and the transcendental setting of anti-dialectics.The second section discusses that Hegel's view of labor is the direct theoretical source of Marx's view of labor, which includes three aspects: First,Marx critically inherits Hegel's idea of the objectification of spiritual subject and regards labor as the objectification of human's essential power.Second,Marx critically inherits Hegel's idea of the subjectivization of spirit object in the view of labor, and understands labor as the active activity of human's sensibility.Third,Marx critically inherits the historical evolution thought of spiritual labor in Hegel's view of labor, and interprets labor as the way of human historical existence.
