Theories And Methods:Research On Ancient Literary Theory Of Cheng Qianfan

Cheng Qianfan is a famous scholar of classical literature in contemporary China as well as in the field of the ancient literature,philology,emendation,literary theory and many other disciplines.He has achieved a great achievement in the field of Chinese ancient literature and document.Although Cheng Qianfanis principal works is not on the research of literary theory,the annotations and notes to the ten pieces of the theory of ancient literature made in his essay-?Ten Articles of Literary Theory?,which reflects his thinking on the ancient Chinese literary theory system.Literary theory is rooted in the development of literature,and ancient Chinese literary theory is rooted in the development of ancient Chinese literature.Cheng Qianfan attaches great importance to the ancient literary theory,he thought the research of ancient literature is depend on the literary theory and philology.A principle of combining criticism with textual research when evaluating literary works.In research of ancient literary theory,he insisted on grasping “ancient literary theory”and “theory of ancient literature”,which in known as “Walk on two legs”.In addition,his method of study has the characteristics of nationality,openness and compatibility.This paper mainly discuss his views and research methods on ancient literary theory according to the annotations and notes made for articles which is excerpt from the book named?Ten Articles of Literary Theory?.The first chapter is the introduction,the introduction of Cheng Qianfan and his?Ten Articles of Literary Theory?.According to the annotations and notes made to the specific articles,the second,third and fourth chapters discussed the relationship between enlightenment and literature,literature and geography,literature and simulation.Cheng Qianfan affirms the enlightenment of literary works.While paying attention to the writersi own moral cultivation.In the analysis of literary works,paying attention to the influence of geographical factors on literary creation and literary style.As an important method of learning literary creation,the simulation emphasizes that literary creation should be created in a new way and form its own style.Chapter five discuss Cheng Qianfanis approach to the study of ancient literary theory and discuss themethod of the combination criticism and textual research and the method of “Walk on two legs”.Trying to explore Cheng Qianfanis ancient literary theory research and analyzing his study of ancient literature theory research methods,helps people know the academic contribution of Cheng Qianfan,strengthen the overall understanding of the ancient literary theory,and then realize the value of the ancient literary theory at the same time.It also provides reference and guidance for our own academic research.
