Research On The Visual Design Of Language Coding

Under the current visual-preference era,visual communication design major is presenting a new development tendency.This is not only manifested from the constant extension of academic scope towards multi sectors,but also reflected from the great expansion of transmitting channels.However,some issues and deficiencies have also been gradually exposed under such rapid growth of visual communication major.For instance,due to the dual impacts from the “attention economy” and growth of informational technology,some designs are solely blindly pursuing visual effects,but have overlooked the importance of explicitly expressing the connotations,which has turned into the top prioritized issue to be addressed by communication design majors;secondly,in terms of learning mode,domestic learning contents for this major emphasizes excessively on training regarding divergent thinking while neglecting the necessity of theoretical support for logic design.As a result,designers tend to express the visual pictures in a blur manner and hence more deviated from the essential requirement of the design works which demands for rapidness and accuracy in transmitting information.In response to above issues,this research is targeted to establish a set of language coding system for visual design with clear process flow and neat logics.Specifically speaking,by taking language essence view of visual design language as the entry point,it takes references to multiple other closely-related text languages.And through utilizing research methods as literature review,cross-discipline research and case analysis,it further conducts in-depth research on language semantics and language morphology so as to summarize and consolidate the grammatical rules and rhetoric contents for these two aspects respectively,in order to provide a more explicit idea for visual transformations of design connotations during design.Through studying and summarizing the language coding theory of visual design with combination of overall analysis on various design cases,this research results are proved with empirical significance.However,given internal structure of the design language is a rather complicated and long-term topic,this research is still at the initial theoretical exploration phase;Therefore,as far as the author is concerned,future researches can step further and make optimizations based on current research results,so as to make a contribution to visual communication design major.
