With the economic globalization, opportunities for cultural exchanges and cooperations among various countries are increasing. And the research on the application of cross-cultural non-verbal communication between collectivism-based China and other countries, can improve the intercultural non-verbal communication skills of international Chinese teachers. This article is divided into five parts.Firstly,it states the research background, the research purpose, the research significance and the research methods.Secondly,it introduces the literature review of the related theories, and the research status at home and aboard considering non-verbal communication, and individualism-collectivism.Thirdly,it includes the research questions, objects, steps, data collection and analysis methods of research.Fourthly,it statistically analyzes the research results and differentially compares the research results from six aspects.Lastly,it illustrates the research findings, enlightenment, research limitations and prospects.Individualism-collectivism is one dimension of Hofstede's Mode of Cultural Value.Trandis believes that individualism-collectivism is multi-dimensional and multi-layered.Based on these previous studies, this research tries to make a survey of 130 undergraduates respectively from China and Bulgaria. After comparatively analyzing the collected data in the SPSS 22.0 software, the study comes up with the following major findings: the Chinese undergraduates generally belong to VC groups, while Bulgarian ones prefer to be culturally individualistic. However, there is not one single value orientation between China and Bulgaria.According to these findings,we can learn about the value orientation of individualism-collectivism among the research subjects from China and Bulgaria and know how their own cultures affect the non-verbal communication, which will be helpful for the learners to establish positive study beliefs while learning Chinese as the second language.Although there are deficiencies in the research, one of its highlights is to combine cross-cultural non-verbal communication with individualism-collectivism and make an empirical investigation of undergraduates with two different cultural backgrounds. Therefore,it is of significance in practice.
