A Study On The Viotti's Concerto No.22 In A Minor For Violin And Orchestra

Giovanni Battista Viotti,1755-1824,was a famous Italian violinist and composer.He is the father of modern violin and the founder of the French-Belgian school in the Classical Period of Music.His unique performance style,formed after he combined singability and technique of violin,deeply influenced aesthetics of violin in the 19 th century.During his whole life,Viotti had composed more than 200 works,including 29 famous violin concertos.Violin Concerto No.22 in A minor,the most outstanding and influential concerto of his,is the template of producing violin concerto in the Classical Period of Music.Many excellent musicians,such as Beethoven and Brahms,gained inspiration from this work.Nowadays,this work still has tremendous vitality and is one of the most popular programs.Also,it is used to be the model of teaching in lots of music school.The concertos of Viotti were expanded to symphony based on Concerti da camera in the baroque period after he innovated composing skills,promoting the development of concerto.Up to now,however,there is few research about composing characteristics and performance style of Viotti.The author would like to supply some references from detailedly analyzing the musical structure,the performance skill and style.The research of this article could be separated into following four aspects:1.Summarize the research purpose and significance of this article and the research status via collecting and reviewing lots of literatures.2.Supply the theoretical basis for work analysis via exploring the historical background and development vein of concertos.3.Summarize the composing feature of Viotti via analyzing every movement of Violin Concerto No.22 in A minor.4.Analysis the performance technique and difficulties of every movement and propose the solutions.Explain its performance style with comparison of different famous performance versions.
