The Study On Li Wenzao

Li Wenzao(1730—1778),word Subo,in his later years,he was numbered Nanjian,and was born in Yidu(Qingzhou,Shandong province).He became a Jinshi in Qian Long period(1761),and he became the governor of Enping After eight years.Then he became the governor Xin'an,and Chaoyang.Finally he became Guilin “Tongzhi”.He died of illness 48 years old in Guilin in 1778.Li Wenzao is a famous Book collector in Qianlong,Shandong Province.,and he was an epigraphy expert,and a man of letters.Although Li Wenzao was young at the time of his death,he was very clean and honest,and he also had great achievements.Li Wenzao's pre-bureaucrat friend is a very famous scholar,such as Qian Daxin,Jiun,Zhou Yongnian,Weng Fanggang and others.Li Wenzao often interacted with these friends and had an important influence on his academic research.When Li Wenzao was an official in Guangdong,he had a good relationship with many Lingnan scholars,and some became his students and good friends.Among these literati,Li Wenzao has the best relationship with Zhang Jinfang,Feng Minchang and Hu Yichang,and Relationship between Li Jian and Huang Danshu is also good.Li Wenzao is a famous book collector.Qian Daxin said: "Li Wenzao loves books and will buy them when he sees good books.Sometimes he also borrows friends' books to copy.Li Wenyao has tens of thousands of volumes of books,which are very good books." Although Li Wenzao's life was short,he was very fond of publish books and had published 21 books.Li Wenzao is honest and does not have much money.It is very rare to engrave so many books.Li Wenzao published many books written by Shandong people,which also shows that Li Wenzao is very concerned about local literature.Li Wenzao is also a very famous epigraphy expert and has achieved great achievements in this research field.Li Wenzao wrote a large number of poems.His collection of poems is called Lingnan Poetry Collection.Li Wenzao's poetry is rich in content and its subject matter is extensive.Most of his poetry was written when he was an official in Guangdong,so he recorded a lot of landscape and social conditions in Lingnan.His poetry has very important reference value for studying the social environment of Lingnan at that time.Li Wenzao has his own poetic creation ideas and does not like to imitate others.His poems are very sincere and passionate,whether they describe the scenery or remember the ancients,or write it for family and friends.Li Wenza's article is academically strong.This is determined by the social context at that time.However,Li Wenzao's articles have the characteristics of Tang and Song writers.
