Due to the ageing of the world, the number of years of service for older people is correspondingly longer, and many countries have already extended the retirement age of the elderly. Therefore,it is necessary to study the performance of the elderly. However,we have found that there are many factors that affect the performance of older people.Studies have shown that age has a positive effect on job performance, and studies have shown that age has a negative inhibitory effect on job performance. However, due to the fact that existing research is the result of different cultural backgrounds, the aging stereotypes under different cultural backgrounds are Different. This may mean that the different effects of age and job performance found in existing research may be due to the different aging stereotypes of the study participants. At the same time, because of the different beliefs of individuals who produce different professional self-efficacy feelings about their job performance,a large number of studies have shown that professional self-efficacy has a significant positive effect on job performance, that is,the more professional self-efficacy.The higher the job performance, the lower the professional self-efficacy,and the lower the job performance.Based on previous studies,we found that aging stereotypes can significantly affect the performance of older people, and some scholars discuss the mechanism of action.Hess believes that the aging stereotypes held by individuals influence their efforts and the use of strategies to influence the task performance.Li believes that the individual's expectations and beliefs about one's self affect the process of inspiring and maintaining the behavior. When individuals have a positive stereotype of aging, they will have sufficient confidence in their ability to perform acertain job and thus achieve high job performance. We can therefore also assume that professional self-efficacy has a mediating effect on aging stereotypes and the performance of older people under different ageing stereotypes. This study uses two methods to explore the mediating role of occupational self-efficacy in aging stereotypes and job performance. In the first study,a questionnaire survey was used to select 150 elderly subjects.Using the aging stereotypic questionnaire, the occupational self-efficacy questionnaire, and the work performance questionnaire, the mediating effect of the relationship between the three and the occupational self-efficacy was explored.Study 2 is based on the first study. It uses short video to activate the elderly's positive or negative aging stereotypes. It also measures the activation level of aging stereotypes, then measures the post-activation occupational self-efficacy,and finally, through the simple work of the elderly.Research indicates:1)In Study 1,the aging stereotypes with different valences had a significant impact on the performance of older people. The elderly with positive aging stereotypes had higher performance, and elderly people with negative aging stereotypes worked.Lower performance. There is a correlation between aging stereotypes, careers, and work performance. There is a significant mediating role of occupational self-efficacy between aging stereotypes and job performance.Whether or not in office has no effect on the above results.2)In Study 2,ageing stereotypes with different valences have a significant impact on cognitive tasks(cognitive connectivity and cognitive classifications)and gripping power before and after the performance of elderly tasks. There is no significant difference in the task of pinching beans in the task of man's job performance.3)In the ageing stereotype activation group with different valences in Study 2,occupational self-efficacy has a significant mediating effect in the response time and correctness rate of aging stereotypes and cognitive classification work performance, but in the case of bean paste There was no significant mediating effect in both the grip strength measurement and cognitive connection tasks.
