The Modernity Construction Of Zhang Zao's Poetics

The traditional elements in Zhang Zao's poetry have always been concerned by readers and critics.His poems connect the exploration of traditional and modern issues such as Fei Ming,Dai Wangshu,Bian Zhilin,and the Jiuye School.The features of Zhang Zao's poems was not consistent.During the writing process,his poems has undergone important changes that always be discerned.However,Zhang Zao's self-statements,which belong to cultural criticisms,and the works of other critics have inadvertently “hidden” the fact that the aesthetic orientation has changed.This article will start from the "misreading" of Zhang Zao's self-statements in his late period,and analyze the conclusions of other researchers,then try to sort out the clues of Zhang zao's aesthetic changes.On chapter one,I will introduce the rhetoric meaning of "YuanRun".The word "YuanRun" comes from Zhang Zao's self-interpretation.It includes two parts: linguistic features and cultural perspectives.Generally speaking,"YuanRun" refers to the rhetorical features of poetry.In order to melt the “tradition” into modern life,Zhang Zao's poems presents multiple clues and “eternal time”.In the poems,"YuanRun" is only a language rhythm,but also an internal emotional rhythm.It uses the sentence-breaking method,loopback sentence pattern,monologue narrative and other methods to incorporate the complicated elements into the poems.On chapter two,I will introduce the meta-verse theory.Zhang Zao often mentioned Rilke and Holderlin's names.Their ontological poetics became an important element of Zhang Zao's meta-verse theory.Then meta-verse theory develops into discourse system.In the later period of Zhang Zao's exposition,“YuanRun” became more and more biased towards the cultural vision,and harmonious “Tian” came into being.meta-verse theory has become an important method for pursuing “Tian”.On chapter three,I will explain how Zhang Zao“misread” “YuanRun” and meta-verse theory.The "YuanRun" is a Rhetorical methods.But in "Tian","YuanRun" was asked for seek an independent discourse system.In the meanwhile,Meta-verse theory became the method of pursuing independent discourse.The desire to cope with reality and escape from reality reflects the contradiction of poetics.In the end,Zhang Zao lost poetic language,and built the ontological aesthetic kingdom.He completed the transformation from "pursuing beauty" to "seeking truth".However,the poetic ideals that respond to reality with “fiction” can only exist in the poems.Therefore,Zhang Zao's poetic ideal,named "future" poetics,is always unclear and has yet to come.Afterall,Zhang Zao's modernity criticism has its meaning.His poetics helped to Look for independent discourse for modern poetics.
