Winston Churchill is one of the most influential political figures in the 20 th century.Under his leadership,the United Kingdom obtained the victory of the Second World War.Besides,Churchill was also an excellent writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953 for the book titled The Second World War.Serving as a record of the historical events from the end of the First World War to July 1945,The Second World War also boasts high literary values.It has taken Churchill six years to finish the masterpiece of approximately 1,800,000 words,including numerous letters,official documents,telegraphic correspondence,etc.All of these provide valuable historical information.Hence translating this series of books is a great challenge for anyone.There are altogether five Chinese versions of The Second World War.But these versions published by some of the well-known publishers like Yilin Press Company are similar with slight alterations.The Chinese version published by Yilin Press in 2012 is selected as the data of this thesis.Yilin Press boasts one of the most influential Press companies in China.However,after reading this version of translation,I spotted numerous inaccuracies and imperfections.Thus,I analyze the deficiencies on the Yilin's translated version and offer revised version by applying the Register Theory and Three Meta-functions Theory.
