Chu Song was composed by Bochan Li,a young composer. As an excellent contemporary Erhu(a traditional bowed instrument)work,Chu Song takes as its background a classic heroic and love story about how the Hegemon-King bids farewell to his concubine. As for the creation method of Chu Song,it both inherits the connotation of Chinese culture and integrates western composition skills. The melody of this work is quite infective and possesses some techniques that are difficult to some degree.By referring to the research on the musical structure analysis of the Erhu solo Chu Song, the author, based on personal performance experience, takes a bold try and transplants the Erhu work Chu Song into Sheng(a Chinese reed instrument)work.By comparing the skills and features of Erhu performance, the instrumental characteristics of Sheng is integrated into the Erhu work.It is hoped that a different Sheng melody can be created for the excellent musical work Chu Song and that the Sheng work can excellently arouse the sympathy of our audience. As the one transplanting Chu Song and the performer of the transplanted Sheng version of Chu Song, the author plans to briefly discuss in this paper how Chu Song,as an original Erhu work, can be transplanted to and performed on keyed Sheng, from the following four perspectives,i.e.(1)the creation background, musical instrument, musical structure of Chu Song,an Erhu solo;(2)the skill application of the transplanted Sheng version of Chu Song;(3)the comparative analysis between transplanted Sheng version of Chu Song and Erhu solo Chu Song;(4)the practical significance of the transplanted Sheng version of Chu Song.
