First woman president of the academy Goncourt,Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, born in 1873,is one of the most important French writers of the twentieth century.Colette never stopped her writing career, she published more than 50 works throughout her life. She excels at describing the characters' inner feelings with her fresh, natural language.Colette's life is legendary. Her personal experiences are a source of writing. She is always attentive to the fate of the women of her time and her works show us the true conditions of women's life in France at the beginning of the 20 th century. The Claudine series are the beginning of Colette's writing career. These novels tell a story of a young provincial girl. Our study relies on three novels: Claudine àl'école,Claudine à Paris and Claudine en ménage.Using feminist theories and theories of Michèle Foucault,we try to analyze the female body in these three novels in order to reveal Colette's feminist consciousness. Our research begins with an analysis of the image of Claudine's natural body. And in the second chapter,we try to reveal how the female body is disciplined by society, and in the last chapter,we want to discover how women resist by using their own bodies. This work aims to propose a new perspective to understand the work of Colette. We also hope that this research can strengthen the popularity of Colette in China.
