From the 18 th to 20 th century,which is an important historical period for the development of western capitalism,it extended from the Baroque period to the 20 th century modern music period.On January 29,1728,the British folk opera The Beggar's Opera which was created by British writer Gay John(1685-1732)and German composer John Christopher Pepusch(1667-1752)made its debut and great success in London.The beggar opera with Satire,Satire is to some kind of organization,system,or the real world some of the behaviors of fire.The Beggar's Opera has satire meaning that rigorously criticizes the Italian opera which is based on the description of the upper class of the palaces and aristocrats.He turned the writing perspective to the British civilians and ruthlessly criticized and exposed the corruption,enjoyment and ugliness of the upper classes of the courts and nobles,which showed the characteristics of humorous and ironic in British folk drama.At the same time,it also satirizes the unhealthy behaviors of the civilian class and the low level of the society,and is an ironic criticism of "the whole social perspective".In order to meet the needs of the development of European capitalism in the 18 th century,Britain was the first to enter the period of capital industrialization in the 1860 s.The development of capitalism entered the period of industrial handicrafts.The development of capitalism has become an unstoppable trend in the world.Such as the needs of a bourgeois economic theory that advocates free competition and a free trade system,étienne-Gabriel Morelly Morelly(1700-1780)and Gabriel Bonnot de Mably,the representatives of the French Utopian Socialist doctrine(1709-1785)proposed the idea of human freedom and equality,abolishing private ownership,establishing public ownership,and implementing egalitarianism and asceticism.In addition,Robinson Crusoe by the famous British writer Daniel Defoe(1660-1731)emerged in the literature,it is an important representative of European capitalism of the 18 th century and a positive spirit,such as adventurous,tenacious will of spirit and so on.These factors have brought good creative nutrients for the generation of The Beggar's Opera.The Beggar's Opera was created with the theme of "Beggar" has been supported and respected by the general public in the UK,the music venue was turned from the royal family,aristocrats,and churches to the British public and also making performance in public.The audiences are not limited to the upper classes,but more are the bourgeoisie and the civilian class.The themes of satirical dramas were well welcomed by people and prospered along with it,this upsurge has had a greater impact on other European countries,France and Germany have followed suit in British folk operas,French comic opera and German sing spiel are begin to rise,the civilian class has become a hot protagonist.On August 31,1928,The Three Penny Opera which is adapted by the German playwright Bertolt Brecht(1898-1956)and the German composer Kurt Weill(1900-1950)from the script of Gay's The Beggar's Opera was successfully staged in Germany.The Three Penny Opera is based on the plots and characters of The Beggar's Opera,The Three Penny Opera better with the discussion and critical attitude,and to think rationally,which has certain enlightenment significance.The Three Penny Opera was used the writing style of narrative drama to allow the audience to participate in the process of watching and think rationally,it possess the educational significance.Music creation interprets new artistic perspectives with a jazz style to people,music is simple and popular,easy to sing,whatever professional singers and ordinary amateurs both can make sing performance,it effectively overcame the limitations of opera music only open to professionals and successfully created a new type of musical play that has important significance in the history of western European opera.It is not only a satirical drama but also an allegorical drama that made it a landmark representative of similar works in the 20 th century,and has a great influence on the creation of modern music in the20 th century.During the 200 years between with the 18 th and 20 th century,it experienced industrial revolution,enlightenment,and world war,which brought new impacts and innovations to the politics,economy,and culture of Western European society.Through the study and arrangement of literature,The Threepenny Opera was adapted by the playwright Brecht on the basis of The Beggar's Opera,Both The Beggar's Opera and The Three Penny Opera's background were set in England,These two works are well connected to the development ofBritish capitalism in the 18 th and 19 th centuries,and also reflect the real status quo of German capitalism in the 20 th century.Both The Beggar's Opera and The Three Penny Opera were created on the theme of "Beggar" and reflected the sociocultural basis under capitalist society of this 200 years.
