In language learning, reading ability is an important indicator to measure the comprehensive ability of language and improving reading ability is very important for promoting foreign language teaching, especially reading teaching. However, more and more scholars have found that after a lot of vocabulary memorization and exercises, readers' reading ability and performance have not been improved significantly, which not only affects their overall English scores, but also blows their confidence in learning English. With the deepening of English learning, linguists have become more and more deeply concerned about the influence of reading. The factors that affect reading have become the focus of attention of scholars. There are many factors affecting the improvement of reading ability, but the influence of emotional factors and reading strategies has been paid much attention by many experts at home and abroad.Anxiety is one of the most important factors that affect learners. Therefore,it is particularly important to study the influence of anxiety on English reading of high school students. This paper mainly talks about the correlation between reading anxiety and reading achievement.Subjects are selected from Grade three students in senior high school. With the help of SPSS,the results show that the subjects have reading anxiety quite commonly, and the correlation between anxiety and achievements is negatively related.Besides,an interview serves as a supplement for this study.Students and teachers are interviewed on the basis of questionnaire to make up for the weakness of the questionnaire. The results of the interview show that due to the students' lack of understanding learning, and training of reading strategies, they have caused reading anxiety. At the same time, teachers should think about how to ease student's reading anxiety, and should pay attention to students' reading anxiety in the normal reading teaching process. This article concludes with the findings of the above investigation to make suggestions for alleviating students' reading anxiety in English.First of all, teachers should make students understand that English reading anxiety is only temporary, and should tell students that it will not develop into a long-term problem and help students build self-confidence and improve their sense of self-worth.For students whose reading anxiety has become a long-term trait, teachers should help them rebuild self-confidence by showing some students' experience in the classroom.Second,in the process of English reading teaching, teachers should provide students with reading materials in accordance with their aptitude to ease students' reading anxiety due to the difficulty of reading materials.Third,in daily English teaching, teachers should guide students to understand the customs, and characteristics of different countries, and guide students to do a lot of extracurricular reading.Fourth, teachers should enhance their grammatical knowledge of language in daily teaching.Fifth,in reading teaching, teachers should consciously train students to use reasoning, inference and syntactic analysis strategies to improve students' comprehensive reading strategies. This paper makes a correlation analysis between reading anxiety and reading achievement, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions, hoping to help reduce reading anxiety and improve reading achievement, and enrich related researches in these aspects.Due to the limitation of time and other factors, there are only some suggestions to improve the effects of English reading and using of reading strategy. From theoretical aspect,it needs to reduce the reading anxiety and enhance the learning and training of reading strategy to promote the reading efficiency. However, the effectiveness of all the suggestions has not been verified, which is the direction of further research in the future.
