Anxiety,one of the foreign learners' affective factors,has an important effect on foreign language learning.It has engaged scholars' attention worldwide.However,with the development of science and technology,computer-aided English test anxiety has become a trend,and computer-aided English test anxiety has become a vital factor in students' English learning.Compared with paper-based English test anxiety,computer-aided English test anxiety has gained little attention,which prompts the present study,with the hope that it provides insights into improving computer-aided English test.Based on Theory of Humanism and Theory of Affective Filter Hypothesis,by quantitative and qualitative methods and with 256 non-English majors from Guangxi Normal University as the subjects,the current research aims to explore the following questions:(1)What is the overall situation of non-English majors' computer-aided English test anxiety?(2)Does there exist significant difference between males and females in terms of computer-aided English test anxiety?(3)Does there exist significant difference between students of Sciences and Liberal Arts in terms of computer-aided English test anxiety?(4)How is computer-aided English test anxiety related to students' English achievements?Results are as follows: 1)The overall computer-aided English test anxiety is at the medium level,with the while-test anxiety ranking the highest and the post-test anxiety the lowest.2)Males' computer-aided English test anxiety is higher than that of females',and there is a significant difference in computer-aided English test anxiety.3)Computer-aided English test anxiety of Liberal Arts majors is higher than that of Sciences majors,but there is no a significant difference between students of Liberal Arts and Sciences.4)Computer-aided English test anxiety of less successful students is higher than that of successful students,and there is a significant negative correlation between students' computer-aided English test anxiety and their English achievements.Finally,some practical suggestions for improving computer-aided English test and releasing students' anxiety are offered from the perspective of students,teachers,and administrators.
