Study On Chen Hongshou's Lishu Art

Chen Hongshou,one of the Eight Famous Calligraphers and Painters of Xiling in Qing Dynasty,had made great achievements in his poems,books,paintings,seals,kettles and inscriptions.This is exactly the model of the ideal figure that the generation of scholars yearn for.He was good at all kinds of calligraphies styles,such as running script,cursive script,seal script,and official script(also called Lishu,a kind of calligraphy).Chen Hongshou's official script is thick,simple and elegant,clear and unrestrained,indulgent and relaxed.At that time,it was an innovative style and full of the spirit of creation and reform.Chen Hongshou practiced the art of Lishu and practiced his own creative practice to open up a new path for the Qing Dynasty to add a new written form.This paper makes a comprehensive and meticulous study on Lishu from the reasons for the formation of Chen Hongshou's Lishu style,the calligraphy learning view of Chen Hongshou,the style characteristics and the historical value of Lishu Art.The first part introduces the causes of Chen Hongshou's Lishu Art.The archeological style of Jinshi,the rise of stone-inscription studies,the new understanding of the Han Dynasty scriptures,the friendship,the law of Lishu and the use of its own methods,and unique innovations for analysis and research.Chen Hongshou's official script has made important achievements in the amazing achievements.Those are the important causes of Chen Hongshu's remarkable achievements in Lishu.The second part analyzes Chen Hongshou's view of advocating “ancient ways” and promoting “showing the heavenly interest of calligraphy”.From the analysis of Chen Hongshou's attitude towards the respect of ancient handwriting modes and ancient monuments,including the statements made by others and his own statements.This part of the concept of “showing the heavenly interest of calligraphy” mainly states Chen Hongshou's understanding of the art of calligraphy,as well as the emotional attitude he wanted to express in his creation.The third part analyzes the style characteristics of Chen Hongshou's artistic style.This part mainly illustrates its admiration of xiongqiangstong,steady and thick;simple ancient and refined,elegant and ethereal,interesting and provocative,indulgent stretch,as well as the combination of Kai-Li script.From these four aspects to analyze,study and summarize the style of Chen Hongshou.The content of this part is the focus of this paper.In these four aspects,the corresponding works of the Lishu works of the related styles are analyzed.Each aspect also discusses Chen Hongshou's source of the law.It not only pays attention to the source of its style,but also pays attention to the innovation of calligraphy.The fourth part mainly discusses the historical value of Chen Hongshou's Lishu art.It mainly analyzes and studies the integration of history and culture with the spirit of the times,in-depth exploration a bold innovation of the tradition,and the inspiration of Chen Hongshou's official script on contemporary creation.
