With the rapid development of society and economy and fierce talent competition, school education becomes particularly important.Teachers as main force of school education should be given special attention. One of the common problems encountered in the career development of teachers is the teacher burnout.Teachers' job burnout refers to the state of exhaustion in emotions, attitudes, and behaviors under long-term pressure, which results from teachers' failure to deal with their own work.Teacher job burnout has a serious impact on teachers' own development and students' growth. In order to understand and explore the influencing factors of its emergence,as well as solutions,Maslash's questionnaire is used to make a survey of 80 junior high school English teachers in the three junior high schools in Yulin City,Shaanxi Province. The following research findings were found through questionnaire survey and interviews:First of all,the surveyed junior high school English teachers have already experienced job burnout. The data analysis shows that there is a certain degree of correlation between teacher job burnout and each of the following elements: gender, age, years of teaching, whether the teacher is in charge of a class, academic qualifications, income, and professional title. It is summarized as the following seven aspects:(1)Teachers' job burnout is mainly displayed in the aspect of emotional exhaustion;(2)Job burnout of female teachers' is higher than that of male teachers';(3)In terms of the degree of burnout, the middle-aged teachers are more severe than young teachers.Teachers' job burnout, whose working duration is from 11 to15 years,is higher than that of teachers of other age groups;(4)English teachers who are also a teacher in charge of a class feel more burned out than other teachers;(5)teachers who received highereducation are more likely to have teacher burnout;(6)The burnout of English teachers in the third grade is higher than that of other grades.(7)Teachers with intermediate titles have the highest level of burnout, and teachers with elementary and senior titles have lower level. The main causes of teachers' job burnout are: society expects too much from teachers and requires too much;and in terms of psychological development, junior high school students are in a period of rebellion and as a result, student management becomes difficult;the rigid education and teaching system in the schools does not grant the teachers chance to give full play of their own teaching characteristics or merits;the teachers are not capable of relieving pressure and stress. In light of these reasons and in order to change teachers' job status, the author of this article puts forward the following suggestions: to improve teachers' social and economic status;to have reasonable expectations of teachers and to combine school education with family education;to reduce teachers' working burden;to establish a scientific system of school management and deepen education reforms;and finally to help teachers acquire the capability of psychological endurance and the ability to self-adjust so as to improve their overall quality.
