Many researchers have pointed out that the success of modern society is related not only to the individual's own cognitive abilities such as fluid intelligence, memory ability and processing speed, but also to the level of individual achievement. For example: optimism, grit, etc.Current psychology, pedagogy, and behavioral economics are beginning to realize the importance of non-cognitive capabilities. However, there is not enough research to explore how non-cognitive ability works in the process of success, and the biological basis of relevant cognitive interpretation is even more deficient.Grit as a non-cognitive ability that has a significant relationship with success is generally considered to be a constant passion and persistence for future goals.Current research suggests that grit plays a role in an individual's life even to some extent more than IQ.Has the value of predicting individual achievement levels. In recent years, with the appearance and development of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology, research on the brain mechanism of grit has gradually begun to rise. There has been some research progress in the brain structure and function mechanism of grit. The study found that grit is related to the functional connection between the ventral striatum and the prefrontal cortex(including the dorsal medial and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the anterior cingulate cortex).Grit-related psychological qualities also have a lot to do with the prefrontal cortex, such as the rigor and neuroticism in the Big Five personality. Many studies have also revealed that they are related to the prefrontal cortex;in addition, grit is a self-managed substructure, and self-management is also associated with the forehead.Leaves are highly related. Therefore, the brain basis of grit may predominantly exist in the prefrontal or executive control network. This study focuses on the basic and functional basis of grit in the brain. It uses predictive methods to find the brain mechanisms involved in grit.Through the interpretation of these brain mechanisms,it is better to explain the causes of individual differences and the future achievements.Make better predictions in the level estimation mechanism.Study I evaluated the quality of the grit of the subjects using a simplified version of the Force. After controlling for factors such as age, sex, and intelligence, correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between grit and brain structural images, and structural brain regions significantly related to grit were obtained. It was found that grit scores and brain anterior cerebellar regions were significantly negative Related. In the second study, the Grit-S questionnaire was used to assess the grit scores of the participants and the total score of the grit questionnaire was calculated. One participant was used as the test group and all other subjects were used as the training group. The edge in the resting state function network was used to correlate the total willpower of the subject in the training group, and the edge with the p value less than 5% was taken as the feature selection edge, and use these features to select the edge to fit the linear model and use the test group to evaluate the prediction model.Using the stay-one prediction method, the structure's whole brain gray matter volume was used to predict the grit behavior score, and then the whole brain functional connection was used to predict the grit score. Finally, the joint total brain gray volume and functional connectivity together performed on the grit behavior score.prediction.After comparing the prediction effects of the three,we found that the integration of the data sources of the two modalities has the best predictive effect on perforating behavior. This result shows that the whole brain gray matter and functional connectivity can indeed be used as an effective feature of prediction of grit behavior, which provides a new idea for future prediction research. In summary,we speculate that the individual differences of grit are related to the volume of gray matter in the anterior cleft of the brain. The larger the volume of gray matter, the lower the grit score may be,but this conclusion needs more verification. And we use multimodal prediction methods, combined with NMR data of structure and function,to better predict individual's grit score, which provides a new method for screening talents in the future.
