As a common social-psychological phenomenon in daily life,social comparison is the process of evaluating oneself in comparison with others when there is no objective standard for evaluation.This study discussed the effect of social comparison on pro-social behavior and the mechanism exploration of self-affirmation by questionnaire survey method and experimental method.The research is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the influence of social comparison of different levels and different directions of learning ability on pro-social behavior tendencies.The second part explores the moderating role of self-affirmation in social comparison and pro-social behavior tendencies.The lase part tests the mechanism of self-affirmation.From the results,we have some conclusions as below:(1)In the presence of assimilation effect,participants in the downward comparison are more likely to feel the threat of social comparison of learning ability;In comparison with the comparative effect,those in the upward comparison person are more likely to feel the learning ability Threats.(2)When the individuals in the face of the upward comparison threat,through self-affirmation can improve the pro-social behavior tendency significantly;When there is no threat effect,self-affirmation can improve the pro-social tendency a little.(3)When the individuals are confronted with the threat of social comparison,the level of self evaluation of subjects' learning ability are declined.Throughself-affirmation,the individual's overall self-evaluation level is restored,thereby promoting the pro-social behavior tendency.
