Ang Lee's Film Study On The Perspective Of Technical Aesthetics

Film has a unique technical attributes.From silent to sound film,from black and white to color film,from 2D to 3D,major changes in film technology have led to a revolution that about film language and film aesthetics.The film technology aesthetics is under the premise of paying full attention to the film technology attribute.This paper studies the aesthetic attribute of film technology,the relationship between film technology and aesthetics,and the performance of this relationship in film practice.Technical aesthetics is a significant perspective to observe and thinking the issues of movies,espercially in the digital times.Ang lee is one of the directors who consciously participate in the film research of technical aesthetics by directing his own movies.Whether from early low-cost art films to further commerical magnificent movies or from desalting movie technology to exploring advanced techniques,the technical evolution of Lee's movies has reflected the creator's thought of movie aesthetic.This paper investigates the technical evolution,aesthetics feature and aesthetics significance of Lee's movies exploration from a technical aesthetics view.There are five sections of this paper: section one(introduction)mainly expound the necessity,feasibility and innovative value of researching Lee's films from a technical aesthetics perspective;section two analyzes the concepts and research categories of films technical;section three combs the creative process of movies directed by Ang Lee from a technical view;section four is an analysis which narrates the aesthetic characteristics of a technical exploration of Lee's films;section five is a reflection about the technicalevolution of Lee's movies,aesthetic value of technical exploration and the significance of enlightenment.The statement of this paper: Taking the movie Life of Pi as a landmark,the features of Lee's movies about the control of advanced technology and the series dualistic thinking of appearance and connotation of movies modality,movies dishonesty and truth has entered the scope of movies ontology and aesthetics.These peculiarities have heuristic significance of further films in the aspects of ontic research,language expansion and the study of technical aesthetics.
