On The Critique Of The Reason From The Perspective Of Mythological Research

Since the 18 th century Enlightenment,reason and the critique of reason have become a focus issue in the philosophical field.In the history of modern philosophy,two critical paths can be divided for this issue.The first path is closely related to the development of German classical philosophy.Starting from the positive perspective of reason,we should think critically about the problems of reason itself,thus eliminating contradictions and developing a more complete rational concept.The second path is related to German Romantic thought.From the perspective of the side beyond reason,we point out the defects and consequences of reason and use other cultural elements to counter reason.Horkheimer and Adorno's Enlightenment Dialectics also inherited these two critical paths,bringing the two positions of enlightenment and counter-enlightenment,rationality and irrationality into two cultural elements,which are enlightenment and mythos.The concepts are not completely antagonistic,but are mutually exclusive and intertwined,and they are in a dialectical tension.The previous rational criticism always proceeded from the perspective of the enlightenment itself,ignoring the view of enlightenment rationality from the perspective of mythology,and thus did not pay enough attention to the fact that Horkheimer and Adorno's attention to the study of mythology is closely related to Romanticism's criticism of rational thought traditions through myth and myth thinking.Therefore,this article returns to this traditional thinking,discusses the philosophical basis of the Romanticism's “new mythology”,and shows its intrinsic relevance to rationalist philosophy,especially German classical philosophy,and based on its different attitudes of enlightenment rationality or understanding,divides the early and late romantics,and discusses the specific content of these two phases of mythology.From this,it can be concluded that the study of Romanticism's "new myths" has two positive implications on the issue of rational criticism.On the one hand,with the help of myths,we can approach the transcendent infinite,and then realize the unification of the finite subject and the infinite;on the other hand,in the myth Among them,we can express the freedom and creativity of the subject spirit.On the basis of this,Horkheimer and Adorno's “Enlightenment Dialectics” critically inherited the romantic idea,and conducted mythological research starting from the dialectic relationship between mythos and enlightenment.And their criticism of the enlightenment rationality was also more thorough,offered us a more mature solution than Romanticism.
