Impoverished college students are a special group of colleges and universities in our country.In addition to the psychological characteristics of ordinary college students,the impoverished students in colleges and universities also suffer from social,life and academic pressure.According to investigations,depression shows an important role in the psychological problems of poor college students.Role,therefore,it is of great significance to pay attention to and attach importance to the psychological health of the impoverished college students.At the economic and psychological levels of college students,the pressures faced by poorly-living college students are generally too large.In the process of their growth,they are often accompanied by more setbacks and dilemmas,and the positive psychological quality and the longing for a happy life will inspire them to advance and ultimately realize their self-worth.However,researchers are less likely to consider the potential of poor college students,improve their mental health,and improve the negative effects of psychological problems such as depression.Seligman,founder of positive psychology,believes that positive psychological quality is the strength of human beings that can resist mental illness.It studies the positive forces and positive qualities of human beings,and can better develop human potential,stimulate their own vitality,and promote people.The ability and creativity,and in order to get a better life.This study used a questionnaire survey method,using the SDS self-assessment scale,and college students' positive psychological quality scales to investigate the current status of depression and positive psychological quality of 800 undergraduates at the China West Normal University and conducted a regression analysis,t-test on the questionnaire results,analysis of variance,and correlation analysis.Firstly,it discusses the demographic characteristics of depressive symptoms and positive psychological qualities of impoverished college students,and then examines the relationship between them,broadens the scope of research on depression among impoverished college students,and provides effective guidance for poor college students in mental health education.Research indicates:1.The detection rate of depressive symptoms among impoverished college students was 29.30%.Independent sample T-test and analysis of variance showed that the overall depression scores of impoverished college students differed significantly in demographic variables such as gender,grade level,whether they were unemployed,the place of origin,and the type of discipline.2.Poor students have lower scores of positive psychological quality than non-poor college students,but did not reach a significant level.The overall score of positive psychological quality of impoverished undergraduates is not significant in terms of gender,spousal or subject type,except for the significant difference in grade and source.3.The positive dimensions of psychological quality in gender,grade,whether the only child,source and subject types,there are significant differences in variables.4.There was a significant negative correlation between depression symptoms and positive psychological quality in poor college students.5.Poor students with depressive symptoms and depressive symptoms of poor students in the positive psychological quality of each dimension significantly different.6.In the 24 dimensions of positive psychological quality,enthusiasm,creativity,fairness,self-discipline,modesty,prudence,sincerity,hope and other dimensions of reverse symptoms of depressive symptoms.
