Objective:The present study investigated the prevalence of depression symptomsand suicide ideation in adolescents in Hunan Province.Method:Extract Changsha City and Yueyang County in Hunan Province6265rural (n=2745) and urban (n=3520) adolescents (age:15.63±2.50years),45major depressive disorder adolescents,22mild depressive disorder adolescents completed the the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D) and the Beck depression Inventory2nd Edition (BDI-II), depressive symptoms were measured by CES-D score (score≥20) and BDI-Ⅱ scores (score≥14), suicidal ideation was measured by BDI-II item9(score≥1)Results:Firstly, The prevalence of depression symptoms screened by CES-D was33.1%(95%confidence interval:95%CI=26.9%-39.3%), with BDI-II screening incidence of depressive symptoms was32.6%(95%confidence interval:95%CI=20.1%-45.1%), while depressive symptoms of both measured conditions was22.9%(95%confidence interval:95%CI=16.1%-29.8%), suicidal ideation rate was30.5%(95confidence interval:95%CI=15.6%-45.4%)Secondly, Depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation were significantly different (Ps<0.05) in districts、age and different family conditions. Among them,13to15years old adolescent got depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation in high level, and female has higher incidence than males (Ps<0.05); divorced and remarried families adolescents’depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation incidence were significantly higher than stable family adolescents (Ps<0.05)Thirdly, depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation incidence has significant positive correlation which coefficient was0.418, suicidal ideation group of adolescents’CES-D and BDI-Ⅱ scores were significantly higher than the average non-suicidal ideation group of adolescents (Ps<0.001);Finality, use suicidal ideation as a independent variable, result of lateral variable logistic regression analysis showed that gender、age、urban and rural, and depression scores are factors of suicidal ideation longitudinal logistic regression analysis showed that only age and past suicidal ideation factors affecting the future suicidal ideationConclusions:Depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation is common in Hunan province’adolescent, which has multiple factors. That should be identified and intervention promptly.
