It is very common for body nouns to be used as quantifiers. The internal structure and semantic relationship of the phrases formed by body nouns are more complicated, which makes it difficult for computer to recognize and understand. This paper focuses on quantitative phrases containing body nouns as quantifiers, andbased onSyntactic and semantic Bidirectional Choice Theory and Potentional Ambiguity,we extract structural sequences of more than 4,000 body quantitative phrase structures from tagged corpuses,we explore the collocation rules of body quantitative phrases from two aspects: the internal structure and the syntactic structure. In terms of the internal structure,we investigate and summarize the categories of body nouns and headwords which can form the body quantitative structure, and find out mutual constraints and some collocation principles;in terms of syntactic structure,we summarize the syntactic relation and semantic relation types of body quantitative phrases. Finally, based on these studies,we make some simple suggestions on the criterion of machine word segmentation. This study provides a direction for further study of body nouns as borrowing quantifiers and differentiating general quantifiers from borrowing quantifiers. It extends the research of modern Chinese classifiers and is helpful to the practice of machine word segmentation.
