Research On The Legislation About The Heaven And Earth Society In Qing Dynasty

Since the Qing Dynasty ruled the country,the rulers began to strengthen the management of social order and started to govern the predecessor of all types of underworld gangs—sworn brothers.However,the severe crackdown did not get the expected effect.The activities of various gangs intensified and theycontinued to rebel against the Qinggovernment.This papermakes a conclusion from the basic aspect of the activities of the Heaven and Earth Society(HES)in the Qing Dynasty,the formulation and application of the Qing Dynasty's articles of lawabout the activities of the HES,other laws been used topunish the activities of the HES,the “examples” of punishing the activities of the HES,and the revision of these articles.Then analyze the background,process,and effects of the legislation governing the activities of the HES in the Qing Dynasty,summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the legislation that punished the activities of the HES in the Qing Dynasty,combined current studies on organized crime,and provide some reference to the "Fighting against the evilforces " special campaign.
