A Study On SuTong’s Novels From The Perspective Of Psychoanalysis

Reviewing the development of history of contemporary Chinese literature,Su Tong is famous for avant-garde writer in literary arena with many creative styles and more than 4 million words of creative achievements.Therefore,Su Tong is the phenomenon of literary history that we cannot ignore.Compared with contemporary writers,Su Tong is good at organizing novels with emotion,persisting in exploring the deepest desires and secrets of characters.This paper intends to further explore the psychological process of the characters by exploring the psychiatric symptoms of the text,digs the potential implication of the works,and further explores the author’s motivation for writing and the author’s life aest-h etics.The thesis consists of five parts.The introductory part introduces the background and significance of the topic selection of this thesis.Also,the academic research on the creation of Su Tong’s novel and the proposed innovation as well as other issues are conclude together.The first chapter discusses the formation background of Su Tong’s novel,mainly from three aspects: Growth experience,The cultural origin of China and the West,The aesthetic fashion of the times.Firstly,the writer’s childhood illn-ess,the history of family migration as well as the age of growing up become the inexhaustible creative resources of the writers.The customs of the Jiangnan sty-le,the Chinese classical culture and the western writers have cast their aesthetic style t ogether.In the 1980 s and 1990 s,literary currents such as root-seeking literature and neo-historicism surged on.The trend of desire expression and personali-zation in the nineties all influenced the themes and techniques of Su Tong’s na-rrative skills.The second chapter based on the practice of literary creation.From the symptom analysis of Su Tong’s novels,we can see that both characters and the use of narrative techniques are influenced by the art of Freud’s psychoanalysis.This part starts from the molding of the sick characters under the psychological defense mechan ism,the unconscious self indulgence under the subconscious mind and the reflection on the survival state of the dream in three levels,which cite specific text as an argument to the Freud system relying on the theory of textual interpretation.The third chapter analyzes the value of Su Tong’s novels.Su Tong’s descry-ption of the state of existence of women enriched the female image in the hist-ory of contemporary literature and put forward another idea of the "southern world." He expanded the Oedipus complex from patricide to deconstruction of history and spiritual return.The tireless pursuit of "no gesture creation" also has an important enlightenment on literary creation.The conclusion part of the thesis makes a dialectical analysis on Su Tong’s writing.Su Tong’s literary creation has been to achieve the possibility of diversification,which greatly enriched the literary world.However,Su Tong’s novels seem to be obsessed with describing the indifferent social reality and the darkness of human nature.The reflection of human nature can not be refracted,and no attempt to rescue dark human nature has been proposed.
