A Study On Relationships Among Adolescent Emotional Neglect,Callous Unemotional Trait And Aggression Tendency

Emotional neglect refers to the adolescents' recognition and evaluation of the absence of parental affection,concern and love in their growth.Callous unemotional trait(cu trait)is a kind of personality trait,It refers to a kind of personality tendency that young people are indifferent to others,lack guilt and low empathy.Aggression tendency is the psychological tendency of teenagers,Which always happened in our life,and always venting emotions to make others feel painful.A total of 980 junior high school students from three high schools in Harbin,Chengdu and Sichuan Ganzi were selected as subjects.This study uses a questionnaire method to investigate.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between emotional neglect and aggression tendency,as well as the mediating effect of apathy in it.In order to improve people's understanding of the influencing factors of the aggression tendency,some suggestions are provided for the work of adolescent mental health education.The results of the study:1.Among the youngsters,adolescents with emotional neglect accounted for 45.3% of the total,teenagers have a higher degree of emotional neglect.And girls are higher than boys,junior high school students are higher than high school students,the parents who have lower educational level are higher than the parents who own high educational level.2.The higher the degree of adolescent emotional neglect,the higher the degree of apathy,the easier it is to have an aggression tendency of individual.3.The tendency of aggressive behavior as a dependent variable,to carring on stepwise regression analysis,the study found that emotional neglect and callous unemotional trait are significant positive predictive aggression tendency,emotional neglect can not only directly predict the tendency of aggressive behavior,but can also indirectly predict aggression tendency through callous unemotional trait which is an intermediary variable.4.callous unemotional trait plays a mediating role between emotional neglect and aggression tendency.Conclusion: On the one hand,parents' patterns of emotional neglect are learned and internalized by adolescents.On the other hand,parental emotional neglect leads to the lack of feedback from the emotional appeal of adolescents and the inability to understand parents and their own emotions.As a result,the development of empathic ability is limited and it is difficult to understand the emotional signals sent by others,especially the painful emotions.Therefore,they gradually formed an callous unemotional trait.Being insensitive to punitive information,lacking guilt,and having more fearlessness,led them to develop more aggression tendency.
