By reading the 2017 version Standard of English curriculum for general High School,we can find that there are some modifications when compared with the 2003 version Standard of English Curriculum for General High School.Based on the former version,the new 2017 version puts forward a truly different conception named the core quality of the subject which includes the awareness of culture.The conclusion we can make from this kind of change is that the importance of culture study is gradually improved in the view of English teaching.And as a significant element of culture awareness,the cross-culture communication competence has been got more and more attention from the researchers.In order to improve students' cross-culture communication competence,a suitable textbook is important.The content and order of a textbook plays an important part in cultivating students' cross-culture communication competence.This passage begins with the practicality needs of cultivating students' cross-culture communication competence,and together with the 2017 new version's rules of the English general outline and researchers' study on the textbook's compiling and evaluation theory,aims to analysis the part of culture content in Beijing Normal University version textbook.Combining the five specific elements of knowledge elements,attitude elements,interpretation-connection elements,discovery-interactive elements and critical cultural consciousness elements in Byram's cross-cultural communicative competence theory,for the Beijing Normal University Version of high school English teaching materials,there are three main research problems in this paper:(1)compared with the compulsory teaching materials,whether elective materials are more helpful to the cultivation of students ' intercultural communicative competence;(2)in the setting of teaching materials,the Beijing Normal University Version of high school English teaching materials has a preference for the selection of cultural content in various countries;(3)in terms of the five elements contained in Byram's theory of cross-cultural communicative competence,Beijing Normal University version of high school English teaching materials for the five cross-cultural communicative competence elements of the cultivation is a focus.Combining with the research problem,the design of this paper is: First of all,the article makes a brief introduction of culture,cross-cultural communication,cross-cultural teaching of the theoretical development and curriculum standards of the requirements of a brief description.Then,the content of teaching materials,teaching materials compilation,teaching materials evaluation theory,evaluation methods at home and abroad to review the relevant literature.On this basis,the presentation of the theoretical basis of the study,combined with the design of the research problem,based on the five ability elements of Byram's cross-cultural communicative competence theory,the analysis of the knowledge factor skills,mainly combined with the Beijing Normal University version of the high school English teaching materials to read the content of the text analysis;The analysis of the elements of attitude skills,the elements of interpretation and linkage skills,the elements of discovery and interactive skills,and the elements of critical cultural skills,through the establishment of corpus,this paper selects the search term and uses antconc3.3.0 to carry on the concrete retrieval,then carries on the general analysis to the Beijing Normal University High School English teaching material by observing the frequency of the retrieval word,and carries on the comparative analysis to the compulsory textbook 1-5 and the elective textbook 6-10.Finally,through the research,it is found that:(1)The arrangement of Beijing Normal University version of high school English teaching materials is beneficial to the cultivation of students ' intercultural communicative competence,and when compared with compulsory teaching materials,elective teaching materials are more conducive to the cultivation of students' intercultural communicative competence;(2)Through the comparative analysis of retrieval data,it is found that this version of teaching materials has a focus on the elements of critical cultural awareness;(3)In terms of content the arrangement of teaching material is more inclined to choose the culture of British and American.
