| "Theory of Harmony" was first raised by Professor Zheng Hailing, working in Beijing Normal University. Its main points lie in the harmonization of every elements and the modernization of the partial and overall,so as to make the translation correct and properly express the meaning and style of the original.Through repeatedly reading the story of the original and tremendously reading the research works of English versions of Hong Lou Meng and theornes of Chinese and Western translation studies and other related books,The author studies the poems’ translation in translation versions of Hong Lou Meng based on the perspective of "harmonious translation".The thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter One is the Introduction, which includes research background, research questions, research methods, research purposes and significance.Chapter Two is the Literature Review, which makes a general study on research profiles about harmonious translation theory and a diachronic study on English versions of Hong Lou Meng.Chapter Three is about the theoretical framework of the study, including reviews on the theoretical background of"harmonious translation",the basic theory of its origin and researching perspective of this thesis. The fourth chapter is the Key section of the whole thesis. The author selected several poems of the two completely translated versions of Hong Lou Meng and makes comparisons and analyses between them.Since the author chooses poems as the maternals for her research in this thesis and poems themselves have vanes means of artistic expressions,It is hard for the author to represent them all to readers.Based on the"harmonious translation"theory, the author can only select"poetic imagery","knowledge and magnanimity"and"poetic sentiment"as her research points. The Fifth Chapter is the conclusions of the research. From the above analyses,it makes conclusions about research results, inadequate research and research future. This thesis aims to prove that"harmonious translation9" is a relatively scientific and comprehensive translation theory. |
