Chanting literature refers to the chants of mountains,rivers,historic sites and history by literati.Chanting literature about Three Kingdoms contains the inscription of historic sites and the recalling of history in Three Kingdoms,especially those whose themes are relying on the historic sites or philosophical thinking through history books.Compared with the works which only a few words and expressions relate to the allusions of Three Kingdoms,chant has a feature of specialization.The history of Three Kingdoms is magnificent with a great number of influential men,leaving us endless chanting topics.This paper focuses on the chanting literature about Three Kingdoms in Song Dynasty in order to explain the unique emotional tendency and aesthetical standard of the literati in Song DynastyThe first chapter is the introduction of this paper.Firstly is a summary to the current research situation about topic,including a macroscopic study of history-chanting poems and Ci,a study of chanting poems and Ci for a single writer or a group of writers,a study of literature in Song Dynasty related to the history of Three Kingdoms and some monographs useful for this paper.Next is the research values and methods of topic,including collection and collation of documents,textual close reading and mutual reflection of literature and history.Then is some necessary concepts'definition.The Three Kingdoms period in this paper is definited from Yellow Turbans Uprising in A.D.184 to Wu,the last regime of Three Kingdoms,perished in A.D.280,with a time span of 96 years.Finally is the origin of the literature on history before Song Dynasty.The second chapter proceeds with the three aspects of politics,ideology and culture and analyses the background of chanting literature about Three Kingdoms in Song Dynasty.The emperors of the Song Dynasty reuse literati.The relationship between literati and politics is unprecedentedly close.Literati's enthusiasm for political participation and sense of social responsibility is unprecedentedly enhanced.Some literati can only express their political views in a way of satirizing the past under political pressure,which promotes the prosperity of chanting literature.WithNeo-Confucianism becoming the official mainstream thoughts,its emphasis on ethical enlightenment has also given literature a strong moral color.Orthodox consciousness in chanting literature about Three Kingdoms is strengthened by Zhu Xi in Southern Song Dynasty.The atmosphere of emphasizing knowledge is prominent in Song Dynasty.The emperors have a preference to literature and attach importance to cultural education.Also,folk printing industry develops rapidly.All of these provide a profound cultural connotation for chanting literature.The third chapter is the creation states of chanting literature about Three Kingdoms in Song Dynasty.This chapter taking the specific chanting characters as clue,observes the chant on Zhuge Liang,Zhou Yu and the monarchs of Three Kingdoms.In the chant on Zhuge Liang,those literati always focus on his resourcefulness,politicial style,secluded feelings,personality glory and tragic fate.In the chant on Zhou Yu,there are different value judgments between the literati in Northern Song Dynasty and Southern Song Dynasty under different historical periods.What's more,Zhou Yu's heroic talent is often used to express their ambition of building a successful career and the helplessness of their ambition which is hard to pay for,leaving them a clearer understanding of the disillusioned reality of fickle career and dreamlike life.The fourth chapter expounds the features of chanting literature about Three Kingdoms in Song Dynasty such as high argumentation,being good at reversing cases,using predecessors' poems and allusions and close relationships between current affairs,being a in-depth analysis about the spiritual world of literati in Song Dynasty.
