The 17th century Holland was a glorious period,called the golden age.Independent Holland established the world's first bourgeois republic.The accumulation of capital trade and the supremacy of the sea have led to the prosperity of Economy of the Netherlands,the material prosperity of the people and the continuous strengthening of the spiritual and cultural needs of the people.These historical conditions have jointly promoted the vigorous development of Dutch art.Dutch unique small painting schools emerged as the times require.A series of world-famous painter such as Rembrandt,Johannes Vermeer and Hobbema emerged,and many different painting forms with styles and contents close to the aesthetic consciousness of the people,such as genre painting,animal painting,still life painting and landscape painting,etc.Among them,seascape painting,as a genre of landscape painting,also flourished during this period with the development of Dutch marine industry.The sea has important meanings for the Dutch.Holland's special geographical location,its worship of the sea and the endless wealth brought by sea trade to the Dutch have prompted them to be keen on the painting content of sea scenery and sea battles.Sea-view painting was produced and developed at this stage.Dutch seascape paintings in the 17th century represent the real situation of History of the Netherlands through different themes.Among them,the unique seascape paintings also show the value of Dutch seascape paintings in 17th century Dutch art and even the whole seascape painting art.Each seascape painting,while depicting and recreating 17th century History of the Netherlands,is also full of more profound significance,namely,the pursuit of marine consciousness and marine spirit,which also promoted the glory and glory of 17th century Holland.This article discusses the artistic features of Dutch seascape painting through the visual language in 17th century Dutch seascape painting works,which is of practical significance for studying the current seascape art.The first content of the article is to analyze the background of Dutch seascape paintings from the aspects of social politics,economic development,religious thoughts,geographical location,freedom of art market and so on in the 17th century,and then to explain the causes of Dutch independent seascape paintings and the formation of marine aesthetic consciousness.Then,through sorting out the representative 17th century Dutch seascape paintings and using the method of image observation,the overall artistic characteristics of Dutch seascape paintings are summarized,including realism,perspective,light and shadow,color,theme and realism,etc.Finally,the historical significance of Dutch seascape painting and its influence on seascape painters in various regions of the world are put forward by image analysis.This article uses sociology,history,iconology and other methods,through the interpretation of seascape paintings,intuitively analyzes the causes,artistic characteristics and influence of Dutch seascape paintings,aiming at helping people to have a deeper understanding and knowledge of 17th century Dutch seascape painting art through the study of seascape paintings.
