The Study On Huiyuan Lushan's Belief In Amitabha

There is little influence on the pure land which sprouts in India.It is luxuriant in Tang Dynasty but spreads to the Middle Earth in Han Dynasty.In particular,as the most outstanding Amitabha faith stands out in Sui and Tang dynasties and forms a Mahayana Buddhism called Pure Land which believes in the existence of all Amitabha and their pure land and receives the merciful protection of Amitabha and expects to live in the pure land of western bliss when they die.The saying of every Amitabha and every Bodhisattva in their household with all return to the pure land.Master Huiyuan once set up a community with his monks which vows to be reborn in the western pure land and practice to visualize the Buddha as the mainly standing Buddha Samadhi according to historical records,it promotes the spread of the belief in the pure land of Amitabha in later generations.There is a saying that Huiyuan is the first ancestor of the pure land on that account.However,the lineage of the pure land ancestors is not very complete,which is still controversial in the academic and educational circles.The study of this paper is the main content and the special reflect of the the Amitabha pure land of Huiyuan,it will guide the present people to reconsider the problem at the same time.The paper is divided into three chapters,and the outline is as follows:The first part introduces the formation background of Huiyuan's belief in the pure land of Amitabha: firstly,it analyzes the social and cultural background at that time,and points out why the profound Confucian and Taoist scholar Huiyuan converted to the three treasures;Secondly,the development of the belief in the pure land of Amitabha is discussed;Finally,the reason why Huiyuan believes in Amitabha Buddha is studied.The second part discusses the main contents and the special reflect of Huiyuan's belief in the pure land of Amitabha,includes two parts of practicing buddhist thought and concrete practice.The three part is a review of the belief in the pure land of Huiyuan's Amitabha,including its influence on the society at that time and the history of the thought of the pure land in later ages.
