The Research On The Role Of Huniu In The Opera Rickshaw Boy

The Opera Rickshaw Boy created by Guo WenJing is initially presented in China National Theater 2014.As the key role,the character of Huniu is known to every household.In the Opera,Huniu is affected by feudal families and thus resulting in her strong personality on one hand;On the other hand,she gains enough courage to breaking the social rules and pursuits love and dream.In this paper,the author has done a detail research on the Huniu following the previous research.Combined with the stage practice,the author aims to reproduce the characters precisely in literature,and retains the values for later research and practice.The whole paper is divided into four sections,each section discusses different contents about Opera Rickshaw Boy.The introduction sections describe the meaning,status,content and approach of this research.The first section compares the role HuNiu in different forms,including the literature,stage play,movie,Peking Opera and Opera.In conclusion,the role of HuNiu in different forms are focusing different characteristics.For example.The stage play focuses on her "spicy",the Peking Opera puts the stress on her love story.According to these different forms,the audience can appreciate the versatility of HuNiu.In the second section,the author puts the most efforts on analysis of detail arias,including:The oppose of Father and Daughter,The Death of HuNiu,HuNiu Seduces XiangZi,Marriage.From the source,tonality,orchestration,and rhythm,the author concludes that the music characteristics as:the music serves for the literature and story,however,the structure of music form is not constrained in tradition.The music source is absorbed the monochord,Peking Drum,small Chinese cabbage and other traditional music languages.For orchestration,the Opera employs modern techniques with Chinese national musical instruments,like Big Trible String and Suona.The libretto is based on the Peking dialect and literature,striking on the deep Peking characteristics.The versatile harmony and orchestrate presents the combination of Western Opera and Chinese Culture as the Chines Opera Music.In the third section,the author further discusses the challenges of role building ofHuniu in Opera.Huniu is a woman who pursuits good life and being full of rebellious spirit,bright and spicy.At the same time,she is also weak and infatuated.Her role building has integrity and coherence,and the performance of various details needs a sense of proportionality.The author takes her arias as the main parts,and carefully discusses how to employ the actions and rhythm to build the role of Huniu.At last,the author concludes the skills of building character features and singing features,and the stage practice leading to the aesthetic thinking.
