As we all know,any language is in a wide cultural context,and English is no exception.As a language teaching,English teaching is also instrumental and humanistic.As early as in the research theory of the word "culture",it is found that language and culture are so inseparable.In 2011,the new English curriculum standards proposed to cultivate students' cultural awareness goals,emphasizing that the goal of English curriculum teaching is to enable students to communicate in English,cultivate students' cultural awareness,and improve students' intercultural communication skills.Thus,enhancing their recognition of local culture.Therefore,cultural teaching in English teaching is particularly important.However,during the internship process,the author found that there is a phenomenon of ignoring or even neglecting cultural teaching in primary school English teaching.This research has carried out the status quo investigation and discovery of this problem,and analyzed the reasons behind the problem,and proposed corresponding solutions by using the observation method,the interview method and the supplementary questionnaire method.Promote the development of primary school English teachers' cultural teaching ability and improve the learning efficiency of primary school English.This paper is divided into six sections.The first section is an introduction,mainly through literature review,exploring the research results of predecessors,and providing a theoretical basis for this paper.The second section is the analysis of the status quo.Through the questionnaire method,interview method,observation method and content analysis method,the status quo of student culture learning and English teacher culture teaching are analyzed and summarized.The third section is the problem analysis.Through the summary of the students' learning status and the teaching status of the teachers,it is found that there are many problems,such as: students lack English culture knowledge,students' interest in English culture learning is not high,students English The way of cultural knowledge learning is single,students do not pay attention to English culture learning,English teacher culture teaching methods are single,English teachers pay insufficient attention to cultural teaching and their cultural literacy needs to be improved.The fourth section is the cause analysis,mining the causes of each problem,and the reasons for the problems are mainly from students,teachers,and English education.The fifth section is the countermeasure analysis,based on the problems summarized in the current situation,combined with the causes of the problems,to find the corresponding solutions.Countermeasures are analyzed from three aspects: primary school students are willing to learn culture;English teachers are good at cultural teaching;English education attaches importance to cultural teaching.The last section is the conclusion,summarizing the results of this study,reflecting on the shortcomings of this research,and seeking better development.
