A Study Of Ideal Personality Theory In Wen Xin Diao Long

As we all know,Liu Xie's"Wen Xin"contains his creative intentions and literary claims.But most researchers usually limite their research perspective in his constructions of the real world,neglecte his ambition to construct the ideal world.In other words,scholars just regard Liu Xie as a representative writer,focus on exploring specific issues in article writing.They are seldom regard him as a true individual existence,so failing to clarify his personality appeal and ideal pursuit,ignoring the theoretical practice of constructing the ideal personality theory.Based on above-mentioned,this thesis attempts to select"Wen Xin"as the reserach point to make a comprehensive exploration of Liu Xie's construction,focusing on the analysis of the basic connotation,basic form,cause and basic spirit of ideal personality theory in Wen Xin Diao Long(The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons).Trying to have a deeper understanding of Liu Xie's literary thoughts.By investigating the formation process of "Wen Xin",we found that after Liu Xie's creation and transformation,"Wen Xin",eventually became a theoretical concept with creative connotation,it implies the writer's poetic understanding of human civilization.Its theoretical center is mainly focused on "making".Liu Xie hopes that through the process of creation and criticism,he seeks a kind of writing practitioner who can put his good wishes of building the "ideal model of the text"into practice,that is,ideal personality.In order to fulfill his literary ideals,Liu Xie created three"ideal types" and two kinds of personality paradigms in Wen Xin Diao Long.Among them,three"ideal types" are paradigm models of the ideal personality that are deeply recognized by his thoughts;and the two kinds of personality paradigms are the products of the"paradigmization".The classical personality paradigm is an idea model that Liu Xie hopes to follow and imitate.It is represented by Confucius and Qu Yuan.The new personality paradigm is a realistic model that he wants to establish for the later generations,represented by"Bing Wen Jun Zi"and "Yan Si Zhi Shi".Eventually,Liu Xie constructed the basic form of ideal personality theory in Wen Xin Diao Long.The ideal personality theory of Wen Xin Diao Long has been produced by many factors.First of all,it is related to Liu Xie's ideological understanding.As the ideological basis of the theory of ideal personality,Liu Xie's understanding of the relationship between ideal personality and "the way of nature","the way of tradeoff'and;"the way of writing"determines his way of thinking and the basic appearance of the ideal personality he intends to.shape.Secondly,it is related to Liu Xie's own creative orientation.On the one hand,Liu Xie's cognition of the human world laid the foundation for his construction of a "new literary concept".In order to rectify the inappropriate literary concept,Liu Xie not only needs to prescribe a good remedy to save the corruption,but also needs to establish a personality paradigm to guide it.On the other hand,Liu Xie,who is in literary activities,began to awaken his sense of creation and criticism.He has a strong "needs of individual realization",eager to be understood and accepted,and full of expectations for ideal personality and ideals.Last but not least,driven by the "Awakening of People" and the trend of character criticism since the Six Dynasties,personality aesthetics has become a trend,Liu Xie was also involved.In the process of building "Wen Xin"",Liu Xie gradually constructed of the basic spirit ot the ideal personality theory of Wen Xin Diao Long.On the one hand,Liu Xie was inspired by the culture of the times and the awakening of individual personality consciousness,consciously assumed the mission of writing,and cultivated the culturalcharacter of Wen Xin Diao Long',Due to the consideration of real problems and the influence of the literary environment,he went deep into the actual process of'"taking the heart for the text",and his practical spirit produced the practical character of the Wen Xin Diao Long,Together of them constitute the theoretical character of Wen Xin Diao Long.On the other hand,Liu Xie regard the ideal personality of "truth,goodness and beauty" as his aesthetic pursuit,and appeal to the later generations to regard the harmonious ideal as the high standard of personality,too.Thus establishing the aesthetic interest of Wen Xin Diao Long.To summarise,"use mind in writing"as Liu Xie's theoretical expression,which not only contains his good wishes for the pursuit of ideals,but also reflects his great expectations for future generations of literati(including creator and critic).Liu Xie's ideal personality theory is not only to formulate the literary rhetoric to solve the real problem,but more to seek a"potential reality"in order to settle the "Wen Xin".If we make a brief summary of its generation process,we can call it"the'Wen Xin'sublimation theory".Generally,it can be be summed up as follows:from the ontology of existence,it is sublimated into the ontology of"Wen Xin"(including creation and criticism),and then sublimated into establishing rules for realistic and future writing.It can be seen that Liu Wei is not only a literary theorist with a broad mind,but also a literary thinker with profound thoughts.The ideal personality theory in the Wen Xin Diao Long is the best illustration of his literary thoughts with theoretical vitality.
