Writing has been more and more important for English language teaching in middle schools.However,during many years of teaching,the author observes that students have great difficulties in English writing,especially the students in Grade Six.Lexical chunks teaching methods help accelerate the speed of information processing,increase the fluency of communicating,improve the accuracy of the language and help construct the organization of the articles.Therefore,for students in Grade Six,it is possible to facilitate their writing abilities by using lexical chunks teaching method.This paper aims to attest the efficiency of lexical chunks in JinYuan Junio r High Schools English teaching of writing.The author carried out an experiment which involved 70 students of Grade 6.There are 35 students in each class.One of the classes was appointed as the experimental group,where the lexical approach was employed,and the other as the controlled group,where the traditional teaching was adopted.The subjects in both classes were considered of the same language proficiency according to the pretest.The experiment lasted about one semester,from February 2018 to June 2018.Data analysis shows that the lexical approach does improve the accuracy of the language and enrich the language of the articles.Thus it improves students' abilities of English writing.
