Because of the influence of the examination-oriented education for a long time,the basic education in our country is still in the stage when teachers impart experience and knowledge,and students passively accept learning.As the core stage of the development of English education,whether senior high school English can effectively improve students' academic literacy is the focus that teachers generally concern.Moreover,the release of “Core Competencies and Values for Chinese Students' Development” has made it clear that the educational goal of the current school is to train “all-round development people.” Compared with the traditional teaching mode,“Drama in Education” has obvious effects on both students' learning ability and the comprehensive ability even other aspects as a kind of experience-based teaching in the classroom.Therefore,based on cooperative learning theory,multiple intelligence theory and constructivism theory,this study aims at solving problems of tedious atmosphere and students' lack of interest in learning in senior high school English class.Based on the cultivation of students core literacy ability,this study attempts to integrate drama in education into high school English teaching,and tries to innovate drama activities in combination with Chinese traditional cultural elements,so as to guide students to acquire subject knowledge and achieve a variety of core literacy indicators in interactive discussions in the classroom through various forms of drama activities.This study focuses on students in Class 19 and Class 3 of Senior one in a Senior High School in Hanzhong city of Shaanxi Province.This thesis adopts observation method,interview method,questionnaire survey method and experiment method in the teaching practice for up to four months,a total of three drama teaching activities have been carried out.After three studies on the application of drama in education,it finds that: 1.The integration of drama into high school English class will help to enhance students interest in English learning;2.The integration of drama into high school English class is helpful to the cultivation of students core competencies.This paper consists of seven parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and significance of this research.The first chapter is a summary of the research,which mainly describes the current research status of drama in education in the basic education at home and abroad,and defines the core concept of this paper and introduces the main theoretical basis of this research.The second chapter is a survey of the application of core literacy and drama in education in the senior high school teaching.After a brief description of the research and design of this paper,a questionnaire survey and an interview of teachers and students based on the drama in education and the cultivation of core literacy ability are carried out and data analysis is made.The third chapter is the teaching design of drama in the senior high school English teaching from the perspective of core literacy.The preparation work before the experiment and the implementation steps of the teaching experiments are described in detail.The fourth chapter is the implementation of drama activities from the perspective of core literacy,which describes the process of three drama teaching experiments step by step.The fifth chapter is the conclusion of the experiment,draws the conclusion through questionnaire investigation,interview and students' comprehensive performance analysis.The last chapter is the conclusion and suggestion of this study,which points out the shortcoming and the future prospects of this study.This research hopes to combine the current advanced drama teaching experience at home and abroad,through several experiments to form a high school English drama teaching mode,which has strong operability and adapts to the characteristics of native education.It may provide a reference for the application of drama in the later English teaching and even in the teaching of other subjects.
