Before the establishment of the new South Africa in 1994,South African blacks were long dominated by white racist governments, and Soweto was the largest black town in South Africa established under the changing apartheid ideology and ethnic policy of the South African government. Thus unlike the slum problems that arise during modern urbanization,Soweto is the product of apartheid under the white racism of South Africa,an apartheid slum.During the urban development of Johannesburg,a large black concentration area was gradually formed in the city.In the 1930 s,the government forced the demolition of these areas on the grounds of clearing the plague.Urban development is inseparable from cheap black labor, but the white racist government has restricted a large number of blacks into the city.In this case, the white government has planned such an area for blacks in the southwestern suburbs of Johannesburg.Although the residents of the Soweto region contributed a lot of labor to the urban development of Johannesburg, the development of the Soweto region was very limited. The main towns of Soweto were developed in the 1950 s.The government provided houses and residents for a period of time.Building the house spontaneously, the government officially named the town area as a southwestern town in 1963(Southwest Townships, the word abbreviation-Soweto).Since its establishment,Soweto has faced housing shortages, poor infrastructure such as transportation, low living standards, poor crimes, frequent crimes, widespread criminal groups, and security and insecurity. In education, the government replaced the church school system to implement the Bantu education policy.Although it is committed to providing more black students with access to education,in reality, the teaching facilities are seriously inadequate, the quality of education is poor, and mainly primary school basic education, students who have the opportunity to receive secondary education.Very few. Therefore, the youth gang composed of young peoplewho are out of school and unemployed on the street plagued the daily life of the residents. On June 16,1976,students protested against the white government's large-scale demonstration of the African language as the main teaching language. The conflict with the police caused riots and the Soweto uprising broke out. After the uprising, the international community began to pay attention to this region and condemned the South African government's policy of apartheid. The Soweto Uprising is known as the watershed in the history of South Africa.Since then, there have been a large number of African nationalist movements, black workers' movements, and black student movements. This area is also known as the outpost of the anti-white racist struggle in modern South Africa. In the short-term after the Soweto uprising, the South African government also relaxed and cared for some policies in the region, which led to the improvement and development of people's lives in the Soweto region, but at the same time new problems emerged. With the development of the South African national movement, this area has become the object of competition and enthusiasm among major political groups.By the time of the establishment of the new South Africa in 1994,the Soweto region had been an important revolutionary area for anti-white segregation in South Africa, and the daily life of residents was greatly affected by the participation of residents.
