Aristotle believes that reason is the ladder to psychological well-being,meaning that the meaning of life experience requires the play of self-related functions. The three sub-studies systematically examined the relationship between self-reflection,presence of meaning, and search for meaning. The three results consistently found that selfreflection, through the search for value factors in the meaning of life, predicts the individual's life presence of meaning.Study 1 is a questionnaire survey to test the correlation and mediation between self-reflection,presence of meaning and search for meaning.A total of 246 valid subjects were collected using the questionnaire star.In this study using the the Rumination-Reflection Questionnaire,Meaning in Life Questionnaire(MLQ),and the Search for Meaning Questionnaire. The results showed that self-reflection was significantly positively correlated with presence of meaning(r=0.28,P<0.01)and search for meaning(r=0.31,P<0.01).Self-reflection and searching understanding(r=0.34,P<0.01),searching purpose(r=0.18,P<0.01),and searching value(r=0.37,P<0.01)showed significant positive correlation. The presence of meaning is only significantly positively correlated with the dimension of searching value(r=0.29,P<0.01).Searching value as a partial intermediary between self-reflection and presence of meaning, the mediating effect is 0.06,and the mediating effect accounts for 17.8% of the total effect. The second study is to track the research and test the self-reflective intertemporal predictive power of search for meaning and presence of meaning.112 participants were selected, and the Rumination-Reflection Questionnaire,Meaning in Life Questionnaire(MLQ),and the Search for Meaning Questionnaire were measured twice, with a time interval of 4 months. The results of cross-lag analysis show that selfreflection can predict the presence of meaning after 4 months,self-reflection can predict the search for value after 4 months, and presence of meaning can predict the search for value after 4 months. The vertical simple intermediary shows that T2 searching value as a partial intermediary between T1 self-reflection and T2 presence of meaning, the mediating effect is 0.13,and the mediating effect accounts for 34.21% of the total effect. The third study is experimental research.By manipulating self-reflection,it examines the changes in the search for meaning and presence of meaning, and explores the causal relationship between the three. The participants were randomly assigned to enter the self-reflection group and the control group, and completed three tasks in turn.Task 1 uses the recall of negative life events to manipulate the self-reflection,form the control group and the reflection group, then complete the positive negative emotion measurement, and then fill in the Meaning in Life Questionnaire, and the Search for Meaning Questionnaire. The results showed that there were significant differences between the reflective group and the control group in the presence of meaning(t=2.43,P<0.05)and the search for value(t=2.55,P<0.05).Seeking value as a partial intermediary between self-reflection and life meaning experience, the mediating effect is 0.09,and the mediating effect accounts for 25.76% of the total effect. In conclusion:(1)Self-reflection and the presence of meaning have a causal relationship,in which self-reflection is an antecedent variable, and individuals with high selfreflection have a high presence of meaning.(2)There is a causal relationship between self-reflection and the value-seeking factor in the search for meaning of life.Self-reflection is an antecedent variable, and individuals with high self-reflection have high motivation to seek value.(3)Self-reflection,through the search for value factors in the search for meaning of life, enhance the individual's presence of meaning.
