A Sociolinguistic Study Of Toponymic Names In Huangshi

This paper takes 1004 toponyms of Huangshi as the object of study,through the field investigation of Huangshi toponyms and the investigation and analysis of toponymic records,gazetteers and related materials,analyzes them from the perspective of language and culture respectively.This paper mainly analyzes the phonological structure and word usage of Huangshi geographical names from the perspective of language.This paper analyzes the cultural connotation of Huangshi geographical names from the angle of culture,and probes into the relationship between Huangshi toponyms and social culture from the aspects of geographical characteristics,population migration,economic activities and so on.In addition,it also summarizes the characteristics of Huangshi geographical names and their own thoughts on the language application of Huangshi geographical names culture.This paper mainly consists of three parts: introduction,text and conclusion:Introduction: This part briefly introduces the research status of Huangshi toponymic names and the feasibility of Huangshi toponymy research.The main body is divided into five chapters:Chapter 1: Introduce the geographical situation and historical evolution of Huangshi City.Chapter 2: Analyze the basic structure of Huangshi place names,including syllable composition and word composition of Huangshi place names.Chapter 3: Analyze the relationship between toponyms of Huangshi and geographical characteristics,population migration,economic activities and other social and cultural relationships.Chapter 4: Summarize the characteristics of Huangshi toponymic names.The main features of Huangshi toponyms are as follows: geographical names use characters to reflect the psychology of seeking good fortune,reflecting the characteristics of Huangshi miningand smelting capital,and paying attention to the psychology of bearing.Chapter 5:Briefly introduce the problems existing in Huangshi toponyms and puts forward some suggestions.In addition,from three aspects,such as attaching importance to the cultural connotation of Huangshi toponymic names,rationally developing the toponymic stories of Huangshi and paying attention to the exploitation of Huangshi toponymic resources,the author puts forward his thoughts on the utilization of Huangshi toponymic resources.Summary:This paper briefly explains the work done in this paper,and summarizes the achievements and shortcomings.
