Xie Xuechong was born in Nankang,jiangxi province.He was born in forty-eight years of QianLong period(1783),died in twenty years of DaoGuang period(1840).And he was born in the literary family,his father Xie Qikun’s literary achievements are great,and his family’s literature is profound.There are 5 volumes of Yi Yuan Poetry remaining and 6 volumes of Xiao Su Tan Ci.His work is rich in content and his art is exquisite.The purpose of this article is to perfect the study of Xie Xuechong and his Xiao Su Tan Ci,and then to determine his l iterary status and literary value in the history of Qing Ci.At the same time,through Xie Xuechong’s case study,this article gives some insight into the development and evolution of the Ci School in Western Zhejiang School and Changzhou School in the Qing Dynasty.So this article start from four parts:Chapter one introduces Xie Xuechong’s life,family background and communication.Xie Xuechong was born in a Confucian family,his father,Xie Qikun,was a famous literary writer at that time,he was also one of the top ten local sages in southern Jiangxi.He had a good reputation in the local area.Xie Xuechong became famous under his urging and teaching,but his middle-aged work is not satisfactory and glorious.Xie Xuechong has made many good friends all his life,including Liang Zhangju,Wang Quande,Zhu Jian,Li Yanzhang,Huang Chengji,Liu Dunyuan and Ye Shaoben.They jointly promoted the development of poetry in the Qing Dynasty.And we can see the influents of Western Zhejiang School and Changzhou School to Qing Ci from them.In the second chapter,the subject matter and content of Xiao Su Tan Ci are divided concretely,and the style and characteristics are summarized.There are 315 poems iin Xiao Su Tan Ci,which can be roughly divided into scorpion words,inscribing words,memorizing travel words,feeling words and affection words.These works are highly artistic,including many excellent works.Among them,the part of the scorpion words can be seen both in the creative features of the Western Zhejiang school and the charm of the Changzhou school.The inscribing words are real and the scenes are lively;memorizing travel words,feeling words are mixed,the scenes on the way and the feelings in the heart;The affection words are real and touching.Chapter three,Xiao Su Tan Ci is exquisite in terms of its artistry and various techniques.Part of the work learns to imitate others;creating collective nouns and forbidden forms,actively innovating and not falling into conventions;using tones extensively,315 words use 111 tones,and most of them use the original meaning of tones.Liu Dunyuan wrote in the Preface to Xie Jiaoshi’s Observation of Ci Poetry that"the idea is wonderful,the language is very sad."The overall style of Xiao Su Tan Ci is elegant and unique.The study of the style of Xiao Su Tan Ci is mainly carried out in the following three aspects:capturing the images of loneliness and sorrow to express feelings;meticulously refining the words and sentences;and concluding sentences are far-reaching and more ingenious.Chapter IV observe the development of Ci in Qing Dynasty,especially in Jiaqing and DaoGuang Period,to analyze the influence of Western Zhejiang School and Changzhou School on Xie Xuechong’s creation,so as to analyze their status and value.Xie Xuechong’s poems are elegant.He has learned from Zhou Bangyan,Zhang Yan,Jiang Kui and Shi Dazu,he has learned from Western Zhejiang School,and he has something in common with the Changzhou School.Skillfully incorporate both schools,and eventually form a unique Ci’s words.
