Cheng Songwan was a famed literati and very famous in poetry creation,during the late Qing Dynasty the Republic of China.He,along with Yi Shunding and Zeng Guangjun,is known as the " Three Poets of Hunan".The creation of his Ci cannot be ignored either.The number of Cheng Songwan’s Ci is considerable of 490 be saved in history.In terms of style,he combined the characteristics of the West Zhejiang School of Ci and Changzhou School of Ci to form his own characteristics.He has a wide range of communication in the Ci-poetry was the backbone of the development of Huxiang’s Ci-poetry.This paper tries to makes a comprehensive study of the content and characteristics of his ci from his family history and friendship.The paper is divided into six parts: introduction and five chapters.The Introduction part,An overview of the research status of Cheng Songwan,explains the research significance,research content and research method of this paper.The first chapter:Cheng Songwan’s familiy origin and his life experience.Starting with first-hand documents such as genealogy and local chronicles,this paper systematically investigates the origin and lineage of Cheng Songwan’s family.Probe into the family tradition of Cheng songwan’s family and its influence on Cheng Songwan.Finally,combs Cheng Songwan’s life experience and collates the ci collection in detail.The second chapter Cheng Songwan’s Friendship circumstances verifies the social intercourse activities,according to the relevant literatures and the analysis of Cheng Songwan’s singing and giving Ci.Cheng Songwan not only with some of his relatives on the exchange of poetry singing,but also with many literary celebrities make friends,such as Kuang Zhouyi,Yi Shunding and so on.The third chapter sorted out and classified the content orientation of Cheng Songwan’s Ci.Cheng Songwan’s Ci are rich in material and abundant connotation,which are mainly divided into six categories.Including Official Travel Ci,Intone Ci,History-nostalgia Ci,Yong-wu Ci,Paintings Ci and Lovesick Ci.The fourth chapter analyzes the artistic characteristics of Cheng Songwan’s Ci,including four aspects: Lyric Art,Preface,Allusions and Ji-ju Ci.The fifth chapter,Ci circles in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China investigates the study orientation of Cheng Songwan’s Ci.At that time,although Changzhou Ci School was the leader of the Ci world,Western Zhejiang Ci school still had some influence.Under the influence of the two major Ci schools,Cheng Songwan’s ci has formed its own characteristics.
