The Research And Practice Of Urban Photography“beiyuan”

Photography has maintained an inseparable relationship with the city since its appearance.The continuous advancement of the urbanization process has provided abundant source of creativity for photography.Meanwhile,the characteristics of photography provide the city with a means of recording and artistic expression.On these basis,the urban photography category has been produced.Since the beginning of the 20 th century,photographers have begun to try to break the original fixed form of expression,looking for new breakthroughs in the development of urban photography.As urban space,one of the important components of the city,occupies an increasingly important position in our lives,photographers are beginning to explore the possibility of expressing cities through space.Nowadays,space is no longer a simple geometric space,but gradually becomes the "spiritual space","living space","economic space" and "cultural space",the epitome of social production and social life.The author created the series of "Beiyuan" on the basis of theoretical study and practice of thinking about the city,hoping to show the significance of urban space in contemporary society and record the trajectory of social change.This paper will be divided into three parts.Firstly,it elaborates the background and purpose of this creation.Then,it summarizes the origin and development of urban photography,and analyzes some contemporary urban photographers' works and thinks about urban photography for photography and the meaning of the city.The last part explains the creative ideas and creative process of the works.
