Study On The Modeling And Decoration Of Figures Of Greek Vase Painting

This thesis observes different styles of the figurative modelling and decoration over the development of vase painting,and analysis the elements attributing the changes of the style.The paper intends to discover the principles and pursuit that had been followed by vase painters over different period,and to understand the establishment of the classical aesthetics through the study of development of vase painting.the content is comprised of four main aspects:Analysis the special ways to perceive and express the figurative forms;The development of modelling from expressive to representative;The pursuit of unity in variety in terms of decoration;The combination of narrative with decorative language;The inspiration from the Greek vase painting.
