| This thesis is a translation report and the source text is the first part of The Mind of the child written by Sally Shuttleworth who is a professor of Oxford University.This book explores the child mind and presents some issues children may have by analyzing some literary works and medical case studies from 1840 to 1900.It is of great importance in the field of child psychiatry.In the process of translating the first part into Chinese,the translator analyzes and summarizes problems encountered and corresponding solutions.This translation practice is the translator’s preliminary exploration of translation of texts about child psychology.This translation report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is description of the translation task,including background of translation task and nature of translation task.The second chapter is description of the translation process,including preparation before translation,draft translation and proofreading and revision.The third chapter is case analysis,introducing problems encountered in the process of translating and solutions to them.The fourth chapter is conclusion of this translation practice,involving unresolved problems and inspirations and prospects for future study and work.Under the guidance of Skopos theory,the thesis aims at providing references for relevant translation activities. |
