In today's English teaching in junior high schools,more and more attention has been paid to listening,speaking and reading while the training of written English has been generally neglected,which often results in low teaching efficiency and students' poor writing competence.To test the feasibility of applying the theory of reflective teaching to English writing teaching in junior high schools,the author intends to carry out an empirical research based on the theory of reflective teaching by conducting questionnaires,making oral interviews and doing teaching experiments.This paper applies the theory of reflective teaching to the English writing teaching practice in junior high schools and takes the students of two parallel classes in Fuzhou NO.18 middle school as the research objects.The results of the study show that reflective teaching is conducive to improving the interaction between the teachers and the students as well as the interaction among the students themselves.The application of the reflective teaching theory can also reduce the students' fear of writing in English,making them become more interested in writing and do "have something to say" and "have something to write",thus gradually building up the students' confidence,making them enjoy the sense of accomplishment,and effectively improving their writing competence.Compared with the traditional teaching method,reflective teaching requires teachers to have a positive teaching attitude and critical thinking so that teachers can learn how to teach in the process of finding out the problems,reflecting the problems and then solving the problems.The application of the reflective teaching can also enable students to know how to learn well.This research has both theoretical significance and practical significance for the English writing teaching in junior high schools.
