The New Curriculum Standard of senior high school requires students to develop their independent learning ability,comprehensive use of language ability and the ability to summarize learning strategies in the learning process.Listening,speaking,reading and writing are not only four basic abilities,but also the necessary means to improve senior high school students' English ability.However,in daily English teaching,students often do not know how to improve their English writing ability,which has become the focus and difficulty of English teaching in senior high schools in China.Most schools learn English through corresponding textbooks and guidance materials,and it makes the language learning environment for students to learn English very limited.In addition,under the pressure of college entrance examination,teachers and students almost focus on reading,which leads to the current situation of high school students' English writing is not optimistic.There are main problems such as lots of Chinglish and grammatical errors,lack of vocabulary diversity,poor analysis of sentence patterns and lack of logic and coherence in articles.Furthermore,many high school students lack confidence in English writing and seldom take the initiative to self-test.Recitation is a traditional learning method in China,which has a great role in promoting language learning.There are also many studies on the effectiveness of Recitation in improving students' writing ability in China.Based on Krashen's theory of language input and Swain's theory of language output,this paper is trying to seek an effective way to apply this traditional learning method to senior high school English writing teaching,and further explores the effectiveness of model essay recitation in improving senior high school students' English writing level.Firstly,this paper explores the current situation of English writing teaching in senior high schools according to the New Curriculum Standards.That is,teachers and students do not pay enough attention to the writing part,resulting in the students' problems in writing,such as the lack of vocabulary diversity,excessive grammatical errors,poor ability to analyze sentence patterns and the lack of logic and coherence.Secondly,the thesis puts forward the hypothesis that model essay recitation teaching method is an effective way to improve the writing ability of pupils.Through experiments,questionnaires and interviews,it is shown that model recitation can help students deepen their understanding of the language,reduce the number of Chinglish,and improve the overall writing level of senior high school students.This study takes 120 students from two classes of Heilongjiang Experimental High School as the research object.It took three months to complete the recitation experiment,questionnaire survey and interview for students and teachers.After the experiment,all the data were analyzed by SPSS,and 10 students in the experimental group were interviewed.Through the analysis and discussion of the experimental data,it is concluded that model essay recitation can effectively improve senior high school students' English writing level.The purpose of this study is to provide inspiration for senior high school English writing under the guidance of the new curriculum standards.Although model recitation is a traditional teaching method,it has a unique practical effect.On the basis of the New Curriculum Standards,teachers should explore new teaching methods and at the same time consider the essence of traditional teaching methods.Only the combination of the two can better promote high school students' English writing.
