After years of teaching experience,the writer has found that writing for students is a most difficult problem in junior middle school English teaching,especially in the rural middle school where the writer has been teaching.For students,writing in English is boring and difficult so that they are afraid to do it.Like other junior middle school English teachers who have made attempts to solve the difficulties in their English writing classes,the writer has been trying to figure out ways of making her students interested in English writing and no longer fear English writing in recent years.Therefore,this paper explores the application and effect of chunk-based model text Recitation in junior middle school English writing teaching.In this paper,98 students from two classes of Jiuxiang Ethnic Middle School in Yiliang County are selected as the research object.Guided by lexical chunk theory,the teaching method and mode of English writing in junior middle schools based on lexical chunks are explored.The main contents of this study are as follows: 1)whether lexical chunk-based model recitation can improve junior middle school students' English writing ability;2)whether lexical chunk-based model recitation is an effective way to improve junior middle school students' English writing ability;3)Model text recitation is a common teaching method in junior middle school English writing teaching,but whether to combine the Lexical Chunk Theory to recite model text and carry out expansion training.This research mainly uses the teaching experiment method to complete,the experimental teaching is carried out in the writer's two classes,one class is the experimental class,the other class is the control class,the number of students in both classes are 49.The experiment lasted for one semester.For the control class,the writer applied the traditional way of writing teaching,and for the experimental class,the writer tried to use the way of chunk-based model text recitation.With the help of teaching experiments,this study also uses questionnaire,pre-test and post-test,as well as interviews and other research methods.In the course of the study,the author collected and analyzed the results of the pre-test and post-test of the experimentalclass and the control class,and summarized the interviews and questionnaires.After a semester's experiment,the results show that the way of chunk-based model text recitation has been effective and beneficial to the junior middle school English writing class.The way of English teaching can help students avoid such problems in their compositions as Chinese-English expressions,textual incoherence,grammatical errors and improper use of language.It has also improved their fluency in writing,and,at the same time,enhanced students' interest and self-confidence in English writing and English study.
